# Knowledge Maps Anki sync error

Hi there,

I am having an issue with the free plan on AnkiMCP web platform. I have started a knowledge map and linked the 1st node it generates to a deck in anki (this is a sub-deck with other decks under it as well), however when I try to sync anki stats it returns the error “Anki tool “cards\_stats” failed”. Next to the sync anki stats button it says that Anki is connected, the MCP server is connected and the tunnel is also connected and running so I am not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreaciated, thanks!

Hi Emmanuel,  
Thanks for the report. This is a bug on our side, your setup is fine. Anki, the addon and the tunnel are all working.  
The deck you linked is large (it includes all its sub-decks), and the stats reply is too big for our sync to carry. Retrying, reconnecting or updating the addon will not help.  
Until we ship a fix, link the node to a smaller sub-deck lower in the tree. That should sync normally.  
We are working on proper support for large decks and I will update this thread when it is out.
